This financial services guide is an important document designed to answer important questions that you may have about Blue Sky Report.

This FSG (Financial Services Guide) includes information about who we are and how we can be contacted, what type of advice we are licensed to provide, what type of advice we intend to provide, how you can access the advice we provide, how you can pay for the services and advice we offer (including details of remuneration), an explanation of any potential for conflicts of interest that may exist and the complaints handling procedures that are available to you.

What type of advice is Blue Sky Report Pty Ltd licensed to provide?
It is important to understand that in many situations where personal advice is given to you, the adviser in question may be required to provide you with either a Statement of Advice (SOA) and/or a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS).
What constitutes personal advice? The law considers that personal advice is given when the adviser in question takes into account one or more of your personal objectives and then proceeds to give you advice. Under such conditions an SOA must be provided to you. If a recommendation is made to you other than securities, then a PDS will most likely accompany such advice.
 
Blue Sky Report is not authorised under its Australian Financial Services License to provide personal financial advice. Blue Sky Report Pty Ltd is however licensed to provide general financial advice to both wholesale clients (generally clients with more than $500,000) and retail clients (generally less than $500,000) for securities such as listed shares on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).
It is not Blue Sky Report intention to provide personal financial advice at any stage, therefore we ask you not to provide us with one or more of your personal objectives. As such, you will not receive a Statement of Advice (SOA). Blue Sky Report does not deal in financial products and will not issue you with any type of PDS.
 
Who do we act for when we provide advice?
Blue Sky Report is responsible for the advice it gives to you as the subscriber. It is our intention to provide to you, the subscriber and/or student, independent discretionary advice. We are not remunerated by other parties for the advice given.

At the date of this Financial Services Guide Blue Sky Report makes general recommendations on securities and therefore provides general financial product advice to the subscribers of the Blue Sky Report as per the Blue Sky Report terms and conditions. 
 
Safe Trader Pty Ltd Educational Course
At the date of this Financial Services Guide Safe trader Pty Ltd provides general financial product advice through its self paced educational learning program comprising of literature and computer software as per the Safe Trader Pty Ltd license agreement.
 
Data Subscriptions
At the date of this Financial Services Guide Safe Trader Pty Ltd sells and distributes electronic data to its subscribers which is supplied by Paritech as per the license agreement between Safe Trader Pty Ltd and Paritech under Paritech’s Australian Financial Services License AFSL Number 243 269.
 
What are the risks and how can I managed my risk?
Safe Trader Pty Ltd has developed a unique risk management system which is designed to try and minimise the impact of financial loss when things go wrong but the unexpected can and does happen. If you become a subscriber to the Blue Sky Report and follow our recommendations you will be exposed to the Australian Share Market and some if its listed securities. When we believe it is time to exit a position we will try to notify you or at least try and make that information available as soon as possible however, you will be responsible to act in accordance with the advice given. You must understand that the share market will not always allow you to sell at a pre-determined price and market conditions can change very quickly, we cannot control this, so if you are unsure we urge you to contact your own advisor to confirm if the Blue Sky Report or any Safe Trader product or service is suitable for your situation and/or risk profile.We offer no warranty on the general advice given and there is the risk subscribers can lose their entire capital if a recommendation fails.

How do you obtain our services?
There are a number of ways you can obtain our services. The most common medium is by website, fax, seminar attendance and email. If you would like more information regarding seminars in your area or promotional material please visit www.blueskyreport.com.au.
 
Documents you may receive from us.

Blue Sky Report may conduct various promotional seminars, offers its services via both the Safe Trader and Blue Sky Report websites and from time to time utilises other advertising mediums such as radio, television, email and fax. Occasionally we may send or email you documentation relating to products or services we are promoting.

How we handle your personal information.
Blue Sky Report respects your personal information. Due to the nature of the services provided your personal details such as name, address, phone numbers, fax numbers and email addresses are required and therefore maintained on our database. At no time will your personal details be deliberately exposed to other parties other than Blue Sky Report Pyt Ltd. If you have arranged a regular payment option rather than a one off total payment for any service your credit card details will be held under a secure framework for transaction purposes.

How do you pay for our services?

Blue Sky Report operates a subscription based general advice newsletter which trades under the name: Blue Sky Report. By subscribing to the report you agree to pay a subscription fee in accordance to the time frame you choose. All fee’s and time frames are clearly displayed on the Blue Sky Report website under Products and Pricing at www.blueskyreport.com.au.
 
Safe Trader Course
Safe Trader Pty Ltd offers an educational course designed for you to study at your own pace. To purchase the course you are required to complete an order form (available by either phoning or visiting the website) where you can make a one off payment by credit card, internet transfer or cheque. All cheques must clear before access to services or products are granted. There are no ongoing membership fees or charges other than an annual data subscription fee, but you are not obligated to use the data offered by Safe Trader Pty Ltd. As a Safe Trader student you can subscribe to the Blue Sky Report at a discounted rate as an additional resource.
 
Share Price Data
Safe Trader Pty Ltd is an authorised reseller of data supplied by Paritech. Anyone can purchase this data from Safe Trader Pty Ltd. All Safe Trader Pty Ltd clients receive access to this data at a wholesale price.  Although Safe Trader Pty Ltd offers this data to its subscribers at a discounted rate below that of Paritech’s retail price, Safe Trader may receive a commission per sale from Paritech for each data subscription.
 
How are our representatives remunerated?
All employees of Blue Sky Report Safe Trader Pty Ltd are paid a salary. They may also be entitled to a performance bonus depending on their position in the organisation. Sales representatives may receive additional commissions for subscriptions or sales they receive over the phone.
 
Are their any relationships or associations that could influence the advice given?
Blue Sky Report receives its income through fixed priced subscriptions (subject to the time frame the subscriber agrees to) and product sales. The advice given does not attract a performance rated charge and therefore there is no change in purchase price to its consumers.
 
A conflict of interest may exist in that excessive recommendations will lead to higher brokerage remuneration and cause unnecessary churning. For this reason management prohibit more than six new buy recommendations to be made per calender month.   
 
What should I do if I have a complaint?
 
It is important to note that there are options available if you are unsatisfied with the provision of financial services provided to you.
 
Firstly, we want to help you. If for any reason you have a complaint you should contact our office immediately by phone, fax, email or in writing, stating the reason for your complaint. Complaints in writing should be addressed to the Complaints Manager.
 
We will attempt to resolve your complaint immediately, however if it is not resolved within 5 business days, please write to – Mr Mark Van Oirschot, Managing Director, Blue Sky Report Pty Ltd, PO Box 408 Torquay VIC 3228. We will attempt to resolve your complaint promptly and proficiently.
 
Failing step 2, you have the right to contact the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS). As Blue Sky Report Pty Ltd is authorised by AFSL 299238, the licence holder is required to maintain a membership at FOS.
